Sitka Counseling provides a full spectrum of counseling and behavioral health services by well trained and qualified professionals. The services provided are designed to meet the individualized and unique needs of the client. Services include an assessment, development of an individualized treatment plan, and periodic evaluation and review of services provided.

Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessments

Comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments are conducted with each client referred for services. Each assessment includes a clinical interview covering substance use severity, medical conditions, emotional/cognitive/behavioral issues, motivation to change, relapse potential, and recovery environment. A diagnosis and individualized treatment recommendations are provided.

Adult/Youth Substance Abuse & Co-Occurring Disorders Outpatient Program

Outpatient counseling is appropriate for individuals assessed with a substance abuse or dependence diagnosis and who are able remain abstinent in an unstructured environment while engaging in outpatient services. Individuals placed in this level of care will participate in an individualized treatment program consisting of group therapy, individual counseling, and support group meetings as recommended in assessment results.

Co-occurring Disorders

All clients are screened and assessed for mental health and substance abuse issues. If a client is dually diagnosed, both disorders are treated as primary and an integrated treatment approach is formulated with the client based on their individualized needs.

Counseling for Individuals, Couples and Families

Sitka Counseling offers outpatient counseling services to youth, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who need assistance with mental health, addictions, and emotional problems. Our mental health and addictions treatment professionals treat the whole person, addressing each client’s unique physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cultural needs by creating and promoting conditions conducive to personal growth and development.

Employee Assistance Program

Sitka Counseling provides contractual services for employers who offer an Employee Assistance Program as part of their benefit package. Employees either self-refer or are referred for services through their employer at a contracted rate.

Group Counseling

Group counseling is unique experience for many people because the treatment professional and group members work hard to create a safe and confidential place to explore problems, concerns or issues. Through the sharing process, members develop a level of trust which makes it possible for them to be honest and open with each other. Group counseling helps members see they are not alone in their pain. Group members can get advice and guidance from each other.

Sitka Counseling strives to provide the highest quality behavioral health care to meet the needs of our clients. We strive to provide evidenced based and individualized services and ensure clients receive timely access to services. We treat all clients with dignity and respect and hold their confidentiality to the highest of standards.

Starting Services

All clients requesting services are referred to our receptionist for intake paperwork. Once the application is completed, the client is seen by a master level clinician or a substance abuse counselor to determine the appropriate level of individualized services within our agency.

Once the assessment has taken place, the treatment plan is developed. The treatment plan outlines the services that will be provided including community support (individual and/or group), Therapeutic behavioral health (individual and/or group), case management, and outside community support groups.

The process is essentially the same for consumers who are under 21, however a few additional forms must be completed. Legal documentation of custody or third party involvement must be provided and the guardian or parent accompanies the minor to their assessment appointment.

If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms related to mental health or substance use, please allow Sitka Counseling to assist in your wellness.
